Catwoman latex mask

Ok here i go here is a start to finish run through of me making a cat-woman mask does  and do not...
the first thing was to sculpt the mask i wanted as there is so many variations of the mask out there..... i opted for the one with the stitches as worn in the movie by Michelle pfeiffer, ok first thing was a polystyrene head and a oil based none drying clay easiest way i found was to make the Shape of the head and nose then fill out the mask from there .....

Here i have got the basic form and have started on the ears.

on goes the second ear which now allows me to start on the detailed stitching and smoothing
the sculpt out for casting.

Here you can see the detail of the stitching going on.

here is all the detail stitching and smoothing done ready to be cast in plaster

once you are happy withe sculpt you create a wall/barrier for the two part mould you
are going to make

ok i forgot to take pic of casting the sculpt but the basic is mix up plaster
place it all over the mould till its at least 2 inch thick on the walls so the pic above and
bellow are of the de-mould process

when de-moulding it will destroy the clay sculpt bellow so make sure
your happy with the sculpt before casting the mould.

After you have pulled the sculpt out of the mould and cleared away
the bigger bits of clay you will still find some clay stuck in the detail
of the mould this can be removed with a sculpt pick or cocktail stick etc...
don't worry to much about hard places to reach, as the first cast out of
the mould will pull out the rest.

so here you go here is the first pull of the latex mask out of the mould ready for the
mouth and eyes to be cut out.

And there it is all cut out and trimmed ready for painting.

OK i cheated here a bit this is the second mask out the mould but this time i used
latex pigment and dyed the latex before i slush casted the mask in the mould let it
dry over night and pull out the mask....i then painted the stitching and here is
the finished mask ready!.....
